About the position

The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Caregiver role at Prestige Care - Huntington Terrace involves providing direct care to residents in a senior living environment. The position focuses on promoting resident dignity, independence, and choice while ensuring a positive physical and psychosocial environment. The PCA will assist with daily living activities, monitor residents' conditions, and uphold the core values of respect, integrity, commitment, and trust.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct resident care while promoting resident dignity, independence, and choice.
• Observes residents' physical and mental conditions and reports changes to the Health Services Director, Expressions Coordinator, or Executive Director.
• Assists with or performs Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), takes vital signs and weights, and accurately documents care services provided.
• Assists residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Performs First Aid and initiates emergency response procedures as required.
• Greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously and answers phones when assigned.
• Follows and supports community fire safety and infection control practices and reports unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Serves meals in the dining room, assists residents at meal time, and helps with dining room and kitchen clean up.
• Assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, and transfers, coordinating personal care service with co-workers.
• Assists with apartment housekeeping services and residents' laundry.
• Attends and participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Food Handler Certification if required by State.
• One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred.

Nice-to-haves
