About The Position

This role provides extensive personalized customer service to depositors with specific banking needs. The Personal Banker offers advice on personal banking accounts, including suggestions for account resolution and other information to new and existing customers. This position also serves as a backup for other roles and performs other duties as assigned. The Personal Banker is expected to enhance their career through work experience and continuing education, while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Participation in examinations, audits, and third-party reviews is required, along with compliance with the Information Security Program and a high level of risk and security awareness. Establishing a good image for the Bank through community involvement is also a key aspect of this role. The Personal Banker will develop a working knowledge of the Bank’s products and services through usage and training to provide quality customer service, build relationships, and exceed expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to three years of previous experience required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to travel to outlying branch areas, as business needs dictate.
  • Regular customer service problem solving using established variables.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Close up visual attention to detailed materials and effective hearing/verbal communication skills are needed.
  • Must make accurate visual inspection of printed and/or written materials.
