About the position

The Per Diem Radiologic Technologist at Boston Children's Hospital is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves evaluating requisitions, selecting appropriate equipment, and explaining procedures to patients and their families. The technologist must maintain high standards of care and comply with hospital policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Identify patients according to hospital policy with two identifiers.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical factors for imaging.
  • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status.
  • Explain examinations and answer questions regarding the exam and radiation exposure.
  • Follow departmental quality control and data integrity workflows.
  • Respond to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
  • Practice the six core values of the hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Maintain up-to-date licensure, certification, and registration.

Requirements

  • Training in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Associates degree in Allied Health
  • Radiographer license
  • ARRT certification
