About the position

The Ultrasound Technologist position at Tenet-AZ Region is a per diem role based in Phoenix, Arizona, focused on producing high-quality ultrasound examinations for medical diagnosis. The technologist will work with various ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular, cardiac, and interventional ultrasound. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to operate ultrasound equipment proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality ultrasound examinations used in medical diagnosis.
• Perform abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular, cardiac, small parts, and interventional ultrasound procedures.
• Ensure proper startup procedures, calibration of equipment, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff regarding procedures and instructions.
• Supervise cross-training technologists and/or students as needed.

Requirements

• Completion of formal ultrasound technology training meeting certification requirements with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
• One year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Must be registered within 24 months of graduation and 12 months of hire with RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Maintain required CEUs to retain Registry.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Preferred certifications/registration with ARDMS or ARRT (with applicable sonography credential 'S', 'BS' or 'VS').
