About the position

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a per diem Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our community-based hospital in Attleboro, MA. We are a patient-focused organization and looking to grow our team with providers who are dedicated to providing meaningful patient care. Since 1913, Sturdy Memorial Hospital has been dedicated to providing its community with a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. What started as a 15-bed facility over 100 years ago has grown to be a 132-bed facility. Our Emergency Department sees over 49,000 annual ED visits and offers full specialty back-up with 24 hour hospitalist coverage. Our Emergency Department has up to quadruple provider coverage per day plus an additional staffed fast track area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients evaluated and treated in the emergency department
  • Utilize therapeutic means, laboratory data, and radiographic studies in coordination of care under the clinical supervision of the Chief, Emergency Services or their designee
  • Provide direct patient care to our communities in a well-established community hospital
  • Maintain a patient-centric mindset to provide the highest quality service and patient care
  • Work alongside other passionate physicians and advanced practitioners, as well as highly trained nursing and support staff
  • Work cross-functionally with hospitalists and other specialties

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a community hospital or tertiary care Emergency Department co-managing ESI level 2 and 3 patients and working up and managing ESI level 4 and 5 patients
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English
  • Excellent operation of clinical equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with both adults and children
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with other clinical, nursing, and physicians
  • Ability to multi-task, handle interruptions and work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department
  • Proficiency in technology usage
  • Graduate of an accredited and/or approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
  • Current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or ability to obtain
  • ACLS/BLS certification
