About the position

The Pepsi-Cola Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering and merchandising beverage products to customers in various locations, including highways, rural areas, and city streets. This role requires a valid CDL A license and involves driving a truck over established routes while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The driver will work independently, resolve customer complaints, and maintain accurate delivery records, all while presenting a professional image to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to deliver beverage products to customers' places of business.
  • Works without direct supervision and resolves customer complaints effectively.
  • Communicates issues and customer concerns to the supervisor.
  • Records delivery, buy back, and variance information on daily delivery records.
  • Responsible for the rotation of displays, coolers, and back stock.
  • Operates hand trucks and/or electric pallet jacks for product delivery.
  • Displays beverage merchandise on shelves and showcases to attract customers.
  • Arranges products according to prearranged plans or approved ideas by management.
  • Constructs or assembles display aids from company-provided Point of Sale (POS) materials.
  • Cleans shelves, coolers, and other display structures regularly.
  • Transfers product from customer stock room to designated displays to comply with 'Sell By' dates.
  • Collects or picks up empty containers or unsold merchandise.
  • Conducts and supervises truck loading and unloading, securing loads appropriately.
  • Issues or obtains customer signatures on receipts for pickups or deliveries.
  • Cleans the inside of the truck and performs daily inspections and routine maintenance on the vehicle.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL A license required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms.
  • Ability to perform electronic/manual data entry using handheld and desktop devices.
