About the position

The Private Equity Performance Improvement Manager at Alvarez & Marsal will play a crucial role in delivering complex client engagements focused on IT and merger integration for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. This position involves leading teams to identify, design, and implement innovative business and technology solutions, ensuring exceptional performance and value creation throughout the deal lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for private equity clients.
  • Conduct pre-acquisition IT diligence assignments focusing on business systems, IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and budgetary analysis.
  • Manage interim IT management and merger-integration execution.
  • Drive performance improvement in key areas such as ERP, back office, supply chain, and customer management during Day-1 and 100-day planning and execution.
  • Implement quality deliverables and manage day-to-day client relationships to ensure exceptional performance.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with a minimum of five years specializing in systems implementations, merger integration, business transformation, and change management.
  • Experience working for or with private equity sponsors or portfolio companies.
  • Deep functional expertise in areas such as IT merger integration, business transformation program management, and IT assessment and strategy development.
  • Proven track record working with business leaders and private equity deal staff.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to produce polished client-facing documents.
  • Strong analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 consultancy.
  • Specific experience designing and supervising change/communications strategies.
