About The Position

The Town of Gilbert is seeking a dynamic People Team Business Partner I or II to join their collaborative People Solutions Team. This role involves fostering a vibrant workplace culture, shaping employee experiences, and acting as an ambassador for organizational values across departments. The position requires a blend of collaborative leadership, talent acquisition expertise, employee advocacy, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is a self-directed doer who can identify needs, create plans, and take ownership of tasks. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 50% on-site work at a Gilbert facility, and is classified as an FLSA-exempt position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, human resources, or other related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role (may be well-suited for individuals with this experience).
  • Working knowledge of HR processes and procedures (may be well-suited for individuals with this knowledge).
  • Must live in the state of Arizona prior to their start date.
  • Strong foundation in employment law, including Federal, state, and local employment law, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, etc.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends, industry best practices, new regulations, and court cases to ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices and strategies to elevate the employment brand, enhance the candidate experience, and utilize candidate management systems.
  • Familiarity with techniques and industry best practices for employment investigations, including proper documentation and retention compliance.
  • Broad awareness of strategies for workforce engagement, attrition reduction, change management, and leadership development.
  • Professional, collaborative, respectful, and empathetic communication style.
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to reprioritize work based on business needs and urgency levels.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
