Peer Support Coordinators provide supervision and direction to the Peer Recovery Specialists working in the Peer Support Center (PSC). Peer Support Coordinators work to provide hope, encouragement, support, self-determination, and connection to individuals served. Peer Support Coordinators plan and implement support/community-based activities for individuals served. Peer Support Coordinators partner with their community to provide outreach services. Peer Support Coordinators are responsible for all activities organized by the PSC. Peer Support Coordinators ensure the PSC and employees fulfill all grant requirements. A Peer Support Coordinator must be a person with lived experience who has met the criteria for a diagnosable mental, behavioral, substance use or emotional disorder at some point in their adult life. A Peer Support Coordinator must demonstrate stability in their own recovery for a significant period of time and demonstrate a willingness to identify self as a person in recovery.
