Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Must be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist- required
Connecticut Community Recovery (CCAR) Training Required
CPR and De-escalation skills
A valid driver’s license may be required depending on the business unit placement
Registration with MD NCPS
Excellent leadership, customer service, organizational and presentation skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate TH’s vision, and motivate others to achieve it organizationally, departmentally, and personally/professionally.
Knowledge of recovery center operations, operating principles, guidelines and by laws.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
Has the ability to plan and organize work initiatives to successfully accomplish center/organizational goals and objectives.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate as appropriate.
Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify, develop and implement short/long-term strategic goals and objectives.
Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships; influence, build credibility and trust.
Ability to think critically as well as apply critical thinking skills.

Background and drug test completion required.

Responsibilities

Assist Clients in recovery to readjust to their community.
Provide peer support to help Client in recovery have their voices fully heard and their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point.
Support peers to identify their area of need for professional support and services and communicate those needs to clinical staff.
Transporting clients to the appropriate referral source or safe environment.
Coach recovering clients on independent use of community resources.
Maintain contact by phone and/or email with peer support to aid recovering clients after they leave the program to ensure their on-going success and to provide re-engagement support in partnership with others in the organization, if needed.
Provide recovery education to service clients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
Develop relationships with community groups/agencies in partnership with others in the agency.
Completes documentation, reports and captures data in accordance with Tuerk House processes.
Refers patients to appropriate services in the community as necessary and documents referrals and outcomes.
