About The Position

Under the clinical supervision for Integrated Treatment and Recovery Services (ITRS), provides an enhanced level of support for persons in Eaton County area with substance use disorders and other behavioral health conditions in accessing and engaging with the local SUD provider network. Focus on improved access to care and community supports. Duties include helping consumers access and navigate the local SUD provider network, support systems and resources including health and wellness. Engage in supportive services on recovery goals to support access and transition between service levels and community supports. The Recovery Coach will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to individuals seeking recovery support in order to help access services and supports, prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program in such a manner that fulfills the specific Health Care Setting and CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of high school diploma or G.E.D is required.
  • Must have two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) with experience navigating treatment services and/or prevention; experience receiving publicly funded treatment and recovery services for addiction.
  • Two years of experience interacting with persons with substance use disorder required.
  • Must possess the MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach certification and the MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor certification or must become certified within a maximum of one (1) year from date of hire or change in regulation.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing is required.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.
  • Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance, county jail background check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, verification of an acceptable work history and an acceptable Michigan driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
