About the position

The Peer Recovery Coach - Group Facilitator position at Lifelong Solutions, LLC involves leading and facilitating peer support and life skills groups for individuals in recovery. The role is designed for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to helping others achieve their recovery goals. The Recovery Coach will create a safe and empowering environment for participants, focusing on skill-building, personal growth, and community connection.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Peer Support Groups: Lead and support weekly peer support groups, ensuring a safe, open, and non-judgmental space for participants.
  • Life Skills Training: Facilitate workshops focusing on practical skills such as stress management, communication, time management, goal setting, and problem-solving.
  • Provide Coaching and Mentorship: Guide participants in setting personal recovery goals and developing coping strategies using a strengths-based, client-centered approach.
  • Track Progress: Monitor and track individual participant progress in recovery and life skills development, providing feedback and adjustments as needed.
  • Create a Positive, Inclusive Environment: Promote respect, mutual support, and inclusivity within the group, ensuring all participants feel heard and valued.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with team members to ensure a holistic approach to recovery support.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of group sessions, participant progress, and any incidents or concerns.
  • Crisis Management: Identify and respond to signs of distress or crisis within the group, providing immediate support and escalating as necessary.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about recovery models, mental health practices, and life skills development strategies.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a recovery-focused setting or in a role involving direct support or coaching in addiction recovery, mental health, or personal development.
  • Experience facilitating groups or workshops is preferred.
  • CCAR Recovery Coach Academy Training, Colorado Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS), or similar certification is required, with a willingness to obtain one of these certifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude toward individuals in recovery.
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions and manage group dynamics effectively.
  • Knowledge of recovery principles, life skills development, and trauma-informed care.
  • Organizational skills for documenting and tracking progress.
  • Crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Other relevant certifications or training in addiction recovery, mental health, or life coaching.
