Department CHS Ped Urgent Care Denver Health Medical Center is recruiting for a full time (1.0FTE) Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician to join our Level II Pediatric ER. The physician will be joining a team of 12 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers. Our Pediatric Emergency Department and Urgent Care (PEDUC) sees approximately 26,000 visits per year with a separate entrance, waiting room and staff from the Adult Emergency Medicine Department and Adult Urgent Care on the Denver Health main campus. The PEDUC is a Level 2 verified American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma site. Denver Health has an inpatient pediatric ward and PICU for admissions, as well as many pediatric specialty services including pediatric surgery, pediatric anesthesia, pediatric neurology, pediatric cardiology and child life. Denver Health’s mission is to provide access to quality preventive, acute, and chronic health care for all citizens of Denver, regardless of ability to pay. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Anschutz Medical School, and the PEDUC serves as a training site for Emergency Medicine, Pediatric and Family Medicine residents. Providers interested in practicing, teaching and working in an integrated health system are encouraged to apply. Job Summary: The provider will supervise Emergency Medicine, Pediatric and Family Medicine residents as well as care for patients independently to provide emergent and urgent care to pediatric patients. Pediatric The job includes examining, diagnosing and developing treatment plans for pediatric patients with acute illnesses and injuries including minor procedures. Will often be coordinating care with the primary care provider. The PEDUC recently incorporated a Pediatric Virtual Urgent Care component. Must function well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.

  • Doctorate Degree Required
  • MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
