About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Pediatric Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic Team. The Clinic RN will be responsible for coordinating nursing care for children with orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. This includes patient assessment, direct patient care, patient/family education, medication administration, triage (via phone/EMR/in person), procedural support, documentation, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The role may also involve supporting administrative and operational duties. The schedule is full-time, Monday-Friday, in-person, with 9 observed holidays per year. The pay range for this position is $34.90/hr - $52.35/hr, with placement based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and education.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of Utah
  • Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire
  • Proficiency with EMR systems

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 1-2 years in ambulatory or outpatient setting preferred
  • Pediatric and orthopedic experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cultural sensitivity

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issues.
  • Assesses comprehensive data including but not limited to physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis or issues as defined by the patient’s condition.
  • Identifies expected outcomes and develops a plan that prescribes strategies which address health promotion and restoration, health maintenance, or health related problems or issues and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implements the identified plan and coordinates care delivery.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient’s condition and learning needs.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
