In this role, the individual will be responsible for answering patient calls and assisting them with daily activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. This hands-on support is essential for maintaining the dignity and comfort of patients. Additionally, the position requires feeding patients and accurately measuring and recording their food and liquid intake to ensure proper nutrition and hydration. Monitoring patients' vital signs, including temperature and blood pressure, is a key responsibility. The individual will document these observations and report any changes to the nursing staff or physicians promptly. This vigilance is crucial for early detection of potential health issues. Furthermore, the role includes assisting nurses or doctors with medical procedures and dressing wounds, which requires a basic understanding of medical protocols and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Answering patient calls and helping patients with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Feeding patients, measuring and recording their food and liquid intake.
  • Monitoring and documenting patients' temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs and reporting changes to nurses or doctors.
  • Assisting nurses or doctors with medical procedures and dressing wounds.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
