About the position

The Payroll Tax Analyst at HDR is responsible for supporting business traveler and expat payroll processes, as well as managing United States payroll taxes. This role involves ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations across multiple countries, conducting research, and providing guidance on tax rules. The analyst will collaborate with third-party consulting firms and internal teams to manage payroll costs and compliance needs, while also performing technical reviews and maintaining internal controls related to payroll tax calculations.

Responsibilities

• Support business traveler and expat payroll processes.
• Research and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations in multiple countries.
• Perform record keeping and payroll processing for business and long-term travelers.
• Collaborate with third-party consulting firms and internal teams to provide guidance on tax rules.
• Communicate proactively regarding payroll costs, risks, and compliance management needs.
• Process and review US payroll taxes for each state in collaboration with US Payroll and Payroll tax personnel.
• Perform technical reviews of system calculations and maintain relevant internal controls.
• Train to perform all aspects of US payroll taxation and act as a backup for other team members.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing payroll or similar relatable experience.
• In-house, multi-state U.S. payroll experience.
• Experience researching and interpreting payroll tax regulations.
• Ability to document ERP requirements necessary for compliance and test system calculations for accuracy.
