About the position

The Payroll Specialist at the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is responsible for managing employee compensation activities, including payroll information entry, wage calculation, and payment processing. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing employee compensation activities within AIDB.
  • Enter payroll information accurately and timely.
  • Calculate wages and ensure correct payments are made.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll laws and internal controls.
  • Keep up to date with personnel policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in payroll-related inquiries and issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in payroll, benefits, and human resources processes.
  • Minimum of three years of data entry experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Harris School Solution (Nextgen).
  • Minimum of five years' payroll experience.
  • Educational coursework related to payroll.
