Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and audit biweekly and out-of-cycle payrolls for hourly and salaried staff using ADP WorkforceNow in collaboration with other team members.
  • Process new hires, staff changes, and terminations in ADP WorkforceNow and other systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track, process, audit, and report on state and federal prevailing wage projects to meet all requirements.
  • Work with ADP and benefit vendors to review, approve and process invoices.
  • Assist with accounts payable with vendor invoice entry, weekly vendor payments, and other accounting tasks.
  • Act as a backup for various accounting functions and support the broader accounting team.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a professional services or service-based industry.
  • Extensive experience with ADP WorkforceNow-this is key!
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing.
  • An associate's degree in accounting or a high school diploma and two or more years of applicable accounting experience.
  • Strong business acumen and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and to be comfortable with change.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to build relationships both internally and externally with vendors and suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines while providing over-the-top customer service to staff and vendors.
  • Microsoft Office experience using Word (basic level skills) and Excel (intermediate level skills) is required.
  • Proven track record of working independently and in a team environment.
