About the position

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll, responding to employee inquiries, and ensuring compliance with payroll laws and company policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and a solid understanding of payroll procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
  • Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, and benefits.
  • Verify employee hours, wages, and tax withholdings.
  • Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Coordinate with HR and accounting teams to update employee records.
  • Support year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and tax filings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred).
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
