About the position

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist at New Castle Building Products is responsible for managing payroll functions and administering employee benefits programs. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll processing for over 400 employees while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The specialist will also handle various benefits administration tasks, including employee enrollment and support with insurance claims.

Responsibilities

• Execute company-wide payrolls for 400+ employees on a weekly basis.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Lead the administration of benefits, including employee enrollment and assisting with insurance and medical claims issues.
• Assist with the open enrollment process.
• Assist with audits related to 401k, payroll, etc.
• Provide necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
• Support the HR team with HR-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of payroll experience.
• Experience working with Paycom preferred.
• 1-3 years of benefits administration experience.
• Good knowledge of benefit enrollment procedures and guidelines.
• Strong analytical and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to prioritize workflow and work on multiple activities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
