About the position

The Patient Transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients within the hospital. This role involves adhering to established guidelines and working under close supervision to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. The transporter also maintains cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and assists in various administrative tasks related to patient care documentation.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from designated areas of the hospital in a caring and professional manner.
• Maintain the Critical Care waiting room area by ordering supplies and updating patient condition information every four hours if associated with Cardiovascular/Critical Care Services.
• Accurately process and file incoming data in Radiology, and remove outdated files according to established policies.
• Keep wheelchairs and stretchers clean and stocked with linens to ensure availability.
• Maintain accurate patient care documentation on logs and notify appropriate personnel of patient care problems in a timely manner.
• Utilize equipment and resources efficiently to ensure high-quality health care services.
• Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, safety standards, and participate in educational programs.
• Greet and direct patients, family members, and visitors, escorting them to their rooms or ancillary areas.
• Receive and deliver supplies and linens to appropriate units as requested, and sort soiled linens for processing.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
