About the position

The Patient Services Associate I (PSA I) plays a crucial role in enhancing the patient and customer experience at Jefferson by managing arrival and departure activities in an outpatient practice. This position focuses on verifying insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information while ensuring a courteous and professional interaction with patients and visitors. The PSA I is responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms and adhering to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Process check-in and check-out activities for patients.
  • Verify insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information.
  • Support the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by treating all patients and visitors courteously.
  • Maintain an efficient flow of practice and escalate patient or provider concerns as necessary.
  • Schedule patient appointments using EPIC software.
  • Interact with patients and visitors in a professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service and/or patient-facing healthcare experience preferred.
  • Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with EPIC software.
