About the position

The Patient Service Coordinator at Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to enhance patient experiences. This role involves managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and supporting front desk operations in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding and professional customer service to ensure efficiency and promote a positive patient experience.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, triaging clinical or non-clinical matters based on priority.
  • Schedule appointments for various neurology subspecialties and ensure schedule utilization.
  • Review and transcribe incoming referrals to the Epilepsy Center.
  • Review and distribute incoming faxes and mail.
  • Support the front desk by checking in patients, collecting co-pays, and verifying insurances.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a fast-paced medical office highly preferred.
  • Epic experience preferred.
  • Positive, customer-focused approach with a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Basic working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to communicate in other languages highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel independently to satellite offices with or without advanced notice.
