About the position
The Patient Scheduling Coordinator at Oviedo Medical Center is responsible for coordinating daily patient registration and scheduling, ensuring efficient and professional service. This role involves providing administrative support, optimizing customer satisfaction, and maintaining effective communication within the department. The coordinator will handle patient information updates, pre-authorizations, and manage correspondence related to hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative clerical support for daily operations of the department.
- Coordinate daily patient scheduling and registration.
- Ensure customer-focused and efficient patient registration and order entry.
- Update existing patient system information for accuracy.
- Obtain pre-authorization from payors when necessary.
- Maintain proactive communication with departmental team members.
- Collect and interpret physicians' orders and relevant registration information.
- Compose and manage office correspondence and hospital policies.
- Facilitate requests, complaints, and communications with staff and guests.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience in patient registration, billing, or collections.
