About the position

The Patient Representative acts as an extension of the provider in a Physician Practice. As such, the Patient Representative must at all times exemplify customer service skills consistent with that of the practice. In addition, to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care, and follow-up care, it is extremely important that accurate demographic information be obtained from patients at every visit. Responsible for patient scheduling, preregistration, registration and insurance authorization for the outpatient departments.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain accurate demographic information from patients at every visit.
  • Manage patient scheduling, preregistration, registration, and insurance authorization for outpatient departments.
  • Answer and direct phone calls and manage reception.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • One year experience in administrative support or customer service required.
  • Two or more years experience in medical office preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology & hospital scheduling preferred.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
