About the position

The position involves enabling patients to secure access to care at PIH Health facilities by managing the registration and pre-registration processes for outpatient and inpatient accounts. The role requires calculating and securing patient liabilities, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles, while ensuring a hospitable experience for patients, physicians, and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform registration and pre-registration tasks for outpatient and inpatient accounts.
• Calculate and secure patient liability including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians.
• Adhere to HIPAA laws and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Utilize strong computer skills to navigate multiple screens and software applications efficiently.

Requirements

• 1+ year of medical office, hospital, or medical billing work experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin) preferred.
• Evidence of continuing education preferred.
