About The Position

The Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) Specialist works closely with the Director in providing guidance on PFCC and patient engagement activities that align with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities. The Specialist works closely with leaders, all departments and operation leads and managers to plan, develop and implement successful PFCC strategies including patient engagement throughout the SHA that aligns with the provincial priority of Patients First and recognizing patients as partners in all areas of the organization from front line care teams to Governance and Leadership teams. The position is required to work collaboratively with leaders, physicians, and staff within the SHA and must lead through influence rather than authority. This position requires the ability to lead all aspects of the work with limited supervision and to be able to manage a busy work schedule as well as work with numerous competing priorities.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health or management related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience with leadership and working in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Knowledge of legislation and applicable laws.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop others.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking, financial and analytical skills.
  • Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity.

  • Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders, including community, to balance the needs and interests of these diverse groups while maintaining alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Travel within the province of Saskatchewan is required.
