About the position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide compassionate care in an outpatient dialysis center. This role is crucial for supporting patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease, allowing them to receive safe and hygienic dialysis treatment. The PCT will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals and will have opportunities for career advancement through training and development programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics.
• Build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb as required.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours on your feet.

Nice-to-haves

• Healthcare experience such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
