About The Position

DaVita Kidney Care is expanding its services by bringing industry-leading clinical quality to patients on-site at skilled nursing facilities (SNF) through a new team called DaVita Skilled Nursing Dialysis Services. This initiative aims to reduce the burden on patients who are transported for dialysis three times a week and to decrease avoidable healthcare costs. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in this role will be responsible for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track, working in conjunction with dialysis RNs. The role involves direct one-on-one patient care, ensuring safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatments. Additionally, the PCT will provide administrative support, including accurate completion of change requisitions, treatment logs, patient charts, invoices, and purchase orders, as well as assisting patients with transportation and appointments. This is a complex but fulfilling service line where meeting and exceeding clinical outcomes is a primary goal, requiring multitasking and strong autonomy and critical thinking skills. PCTs will monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, measuring and recording stats, making observations, and setting up hemodialysis machines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • MUST BE CERTIFIED HEMODIALYSIS TECHNICIAN (OCDT)
  • Excellent computer and clerical skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Type 60 WPM

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment through direct one-on-one patient care.
