About the position
The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. The Patient Care Tech II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, The PCT II performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform multi-skilled activities to support patient care.
- Assist in executing therapeutic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Make accurate physical observations of patients.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
- One year of patient care experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA, NAHP, or NCCT as a Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic.
- Bachelor's Degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program.
