About the position

The In Center Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a crucial role in providing exceptional hemodialysis care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This position supports the mission and values of Home Dialysis Services & Dialysis Care Center, LLC, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality patient care in a dialysis facility setting.

Responsibilities

  • Entering prescribed treatment into dialysis machines and setting them up for patient use.
  • Dismantling dialysis machines after treatment and performing chemical disinfection.
  • Observing dialysis machines and RO water systems for correct functioning and responding to alarms.
  • Monitoring vital signs during treatment and documenting them on the Hemodialysis Treatment Record.
  • Performing vascular access evaluations pre-treatment and reporting unusual findings to the RN.
  • Performing cannulation of patient's vascular access or catheter care as allowed by state law.
  • Collecting patient data and monitoring the status of vascular accesses and patient observations.
  • Reviewing lab work and preparing blood samples for shipping.
  • Reporting abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the assigned RN.
  • Maintaining compliance with safety and infection prevention measures.
  • Reinforcing education with patients and family members on End Stage Renal Disease.
  • Assisting in the management of inventory supplies.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of High School diploma or GED.
  • Current CCHT, Bonent or State required certificate.
  • Current CPR card.
  • 1 or more years' experience as a certified Patient Care Technician preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong data entry, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
