About The Position

This entry-level position involves demonstrating knowledge of Kinney Drugs retail pharmacy resources to effectively handle patient inquiries, updates, and requests. The role requires working under direct supervision, following standard procedures, and assisting staff with daily duties. The representative will answer incoming calls and make outbound calls independently, while also providing support to peers and leaders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to answer and document patient related inquiries accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to complete patient updates and service patient and store requests accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to assist staff members to complete daily duties.
  • Ability to answer incoming and make outbound calls independently.
  • Proficient in all state and federal regulations ensuring compliance with the law.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years experience as Pharmacy Technician or Customer Service Representative in a health care related service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide phone coverage for the Patient Care Center, handling incoming and outbound calls, and directing calls to appropriate locations.
  • Understand, master, and work efficiently in systems used by the Patient Care Center.
  • Resolve patient service questions and issues to ensure complete patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in and support training and development efforts for pharmacies.
  • Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of pharmacy technology and workflow processes, including product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and company operational policies and procedures.
  • Learn and understand specific aspects of the pharmacy management system, such as reception and release to patient queues.
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks with a sense of urgency, meeting daily department standards.
  • Understand and embrace the Quality Assurance Policy & Procedures, patient care programs, and all company policies and procedures.
  • Act with integrity, maintain confidentiality, and comply with all HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in additional pharmacy service-related projects as needed.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
