About the position
We are hiring at UofL Health - Frazier Rehabilitation Institute located at 220 Abraham Flexner Way, Louisville, KY 40202. This position is full-time during the day shift. Frazier Rehab Institute offers nationally recognized rehabilitation services, including brain injury, spinal cord, and stroke recovery programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehab Facilities (CARF). The institute is a national leader in rehabilitation services, with innovative programs such as EMERGE, designed for patients with severe traumatic brain injuries, and locomotor training for post spinal cord injury patients.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate & accommodate patient needs by responding to their verbal & nonverbal cues.
- Prepare patients for the 3 daily required therapy sessions (SLP, physical, & OT).
- Provide patients with opportunities for independence and making choices consistent with their plan of care.
- Assist with admission, transportation, and discharge of patients.
- Aid patients in transferring, repositioning, alignment, and ambulation.
- Assist patients with dressing/undressing, maintaining personal hygiene including grooming & oral care, and toileting needs.
- Recognize changes in patient status and report appropriate information to registered nurse.
- Keep patient living areas pleasant and orderly, as well as safeguard patient personal belongings.
- Ensure patient rights, privacy, & confidentiality are protected and that all patients and families are made aware of these rights.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/ equivalent (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in healthcare setting
- State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (preferred)
