About the position
We are hiring at UofL Health - Frazier Rehabilitation Institute located at 220 Abraham Flexner Way, Louisville, KY 40202. The position offers full-time shift options from 7 PM to 7 AM. Frazier Rehab Institute provides nationally recognized rehabilitation services, including brain injury, spinal cord, and stroke recovery programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehab Facilities (CARF). The institute is a national leader in rehabilitation services, with innovative programs such as EMERGE for patients with severe traumatic brain injuries and locomotor training for post spinal cord injury patients. Responsibilities
- Anticipate & accommodate patient needs by responding to their verbal & nonverbal cues.
- Prepare patients for the 3 daily required therapy sessions (SLP, physical, & OT).
- Provide patients with opportunities for independence and making choices consistent with their plan of care.
- Assist with admission, transportation, and discharge of patients.
- Aid patients in transferring, repositioning, alignment, and ambulation.
- Assist patients with dressing/undressing, maintaining personal hygiene including grooming & oral care, and toileting needs.
- Recognize changes in patient status and report appropriate information to registered nurse.
- Keep patient living areas pleasant and orderly, as well as safeguard patient personal belongings.
- Ensure patient rights, privacy, & confidentiality are protected and that all patients and families are made aware of these rights.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in healthcare setting
- State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (preferred)
