About the position

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for managing incoming calls and scheduling patient appointments at the assigned CIS location. This role involves operating a multi-line switchboard, ensuring efficient communication, and maintaining accurate documentation in the medical records. The representative plays a crucial role in meeting performance metrics and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Operate a multi-line switchboard to answer and direct incoming calls.
• Schedule patient appointments according to clinic guidelines and templates.
• Take messages and route calls to the appropriate personnel.
• Document all pertinent information accurately in the medical record.
• Meet performance and productivity metrics as outlined by administration.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area and report safety issues.
• Assist other employees when duties are complete and communicate any job-related concerns.
• Represent CIS professionally and interact effectively with physicians, staff, and patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Some experience with a multi-line switchboard preferred.
• Good communication skills.
