About the position

UPMC Health Plan is looking to hire a Contract Recruitment Specialist to join our Pathways to Work team! This role is pivotal in supporting jobseekers in the greater Pittsburgh area. The Pathways to Work Specialist will be responsible for performing all outreach, follow-up, and support activities for the Pathways to Work team. This includes frequent phone call and email communication, as well as attending events and meetings related to the community outreach mission of UPMC Pathways to Work. The ideal candidate will be proactive in engaging with the community and will play a crucial role in connecting jobseekers with resources and opportunities. The responsibilities of the Recruitment Specialist include conducting employment screening interviews for Pathways to Work candidates and providing feedback regarding resources to assist in overcoming barriers to work. The specialist will participate in meetings with UPMC staff, community partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication. Additionally, the role involves attending events and visiting community organizations to build relationships with partners, advising stakeholders on progress with Pathways initiatives, and facilitating a referral system to gain information about candidates and referrals. Maintaining confidentiality of all information received is essential, as is representing UPMC at external and internal functions, such as job fairs and UPMC-sponsored events. The specialist will also be responsible for formulating testimonial stories and other marketing materials to promote the program, as well as reviewing and evaluating candidate applications and resumes to ensure they meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the job description. The position requires a willingness and ability to work in the field in a regional capacity at least 25% of the time, and the ability to work independently in a virtual setting is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct employment screening interviews for Pathways to Work candidates and provide feedback regarding resources to assist in overcoming barriers to work.
  • Participate in meetings with UPMC Staff, Community Partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend events and visit community organizations to build relationships with our community partners.
  • Advise and instruct all stakeholders on progress with Pathways initiatives.
  • Facilitate referral system and work within UPMC Systems to gain information about Pathways to Work candidates and referrals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received within the guidelines of professional recruitment in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Represent UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC HS sponsored events, etc.), providing the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities.
  • Formulate testimonial stories and other marketing materials to promote the program.
  • Review and evaluate candidate applications and/or resumes in terms of related experience, education, and skill, rejecting those not meeting the minimum qualifications on the approved job description.
  • Willingness and ability to work in the field in a regional capacity at least 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Two years of work experience preferred (one year of recruitment and/or community outreach or nonprofit experience preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Driving of your personal vehicle is required for this position.
