About the position

The Pastry Cook at One White Street plays a crucial role in the restaurant's success by preparing high-quality menu items and specials. This position requires a skilled individual who can maintain cleanliness, follow recipes, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of food service and storage facilities.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
• Set up workstation with required mise en place, tools, equipment, and supplies according to standards.
• Check production schedule and pars and establish priority items for the day.
• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards in a time-efficient manner.
• Restock items that were depleted during the shift.
• Communicate with Front of House to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
• Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities.
• Be a team player - support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible.
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and brand standards are always followed.
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.

Requirements

• 1+ years of Pastry Cook experience in a restaurant.
• Food Handler's permit (within 30 days upon hiring).
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50+ pounds.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business.
