About the position
We are a traditional Baptist Church located in the Egypt community in Effingham County, Georgia. We are located short distances from the cities of Rincon and Springfield in Effingham County as well as Statesboro, in neighboring Bulloch County. As a traditional Baptist Church we have a heart for missions, community outreach, and the discipleship of believers. The Pastor will be an ordained Non-Calvinist/Non-Reformed Baptist Minister with at least 1 to 3 years' pastoral experience, whose life and character reflect the qualifications and standards listed in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9, in conjunction with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
Responsibilities
- Deliver biblically sound sermons and provide spiritual instruction in accordance with the above spiritual standards and lead the church members in observance of the Lord's given ordinances.
- Provide guidance, counseling, and support to church members, including visitation to the sick, bereaved, and homebound.
- Encourage and equip the congregation to grow in their faith and actively share the Gospel within the community and groups of all ages.
- Represent the church in the local community, foster relationships with other churches, denominational leaders and participate in SBC conventions in matters of mutual interest and concern; keep the church informed of denominational development; represent the church in civic matters.
- Make arrangements for all speakers and special meetings and, in his absence, be responsible for pulpit speakers.
- Conduct counseling sessions; conduct funerals and perform wedding ceremonies between one biological man and one biological woman only.
- Provide leadership to the Deacons, Trustees, church officers and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities; train and spiritually lead deacons in their ministry.
Requirements
- Ordained Non-Calvinist/Non-Reformed Baptist Minister
- 1 to 3 years' pastoral experience
- Life and character reflect the qualifications and standards listed in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9
- Adherence to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message
