About the position
The PAS Specialist at Oregon Health & Science University is responsible for providing high-quality customer service to both external and internal customers, ensuring efficient enrollment and authorization processes, and managing point-of-service operations. This role involves verifying patient information, scheduling appointments, and handling financial transactions related to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality customer service to external and internal customers.
- Gather and verify patient information including demographics and insurance coverage.
- Confirm patient eligibility for health care coverage and clarify managed care arrangements.
- Obtain authorizations for clinical care, procedures, and laboratory studies.
- Schedule new patient appointments and obtain prior medical records as needed.
- Arrange necessary accommodations such as stretchers, wheelchairs, and interpreters.
- Greet patients and confirm appointment attendance.
- Inspect insurance cards and collect payments, providing receipts as necessary.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
- High School Diploma or GED.
