About the position

The Outside Salesperson at Palmer Trucks is responsible for maximizing sales within a designated territory by establishing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers. This role focuses on increasing market penetration through effective sales strategies and achieving unit goals and gross profit. The position requires a proactive approach to customer engagement and market analysis to promote parts and accessories effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the dealership and customers, including garages, jobbers, fleet owners, and leasing companies.
  • Promote the sales of parts and accessories to wholesale and retail customers.
  • Establish payment methods for wholesale parts and obtain credit approvals from finance companies.
  • Solicit new business daily and conduct shopping surveys of competitive parts outlets.
  • Stay informed about new products and market conditions, providing updates to the Parts Manager.
  • Arrange delivery of parts to accounts.

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and a proactive, 'go-getter' attitude.
  • Motivated to meet sales goals and gross profit targets.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and decision-making ability.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
  • Understanding of marketing principles and administration.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
