The Part Sales role maintains and controls boat, motor, trailer and ATV parts inventory and assist external and internal customers with purchases of or questions regarding parts. This role supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. The Parts Sales Outfitter receives inquiries from customers requesting retail parts, price quotes, or general information either by phone or at the parts counter. They research customer inquiries using Internet sites, manufacturer contact, or on-site reference materials, and perform part sales transactions either on the phone or at the parts counter. This role also safeguards funds received and performs till reconciliation procedures daily. They create purchase orders to buy parts needed for stock, customer, or work order requirements and forward orders to the appropriate vendor. Upon receipt of parts, they check shipping documents against merchandise/quantities received for accuracy and perform data entry of parts received into the IDS inventory tracking system. Received merchandise is placed in a designated location for easy retrieval. Payment verification is done before special order parts are shipped. Parts are issued to technicians and riggers as per work order requirements, and then subsequently entered into IDS to track parts inventory. Refund transactions on returned parts or cancellations are verified and completed. Returned and warranty parts are sent back to the appropriate vendor, and credit is received. The role also prepares for and conducts required parts inventories as per established schedules, and reports and reconciles any inventory shortages or parts variances resulting from physical inventory. Finally, they maintain a clean and professional work area.
