About the position

The Parts Sales Consultant at Master Chevrolet Cadillac is responsible for managing the parts inventory and providing excellent customer service to both retail and wholesale clients. This role involves receiving and recording new parts, maintaining databases, and ensuring a safe and organized environment in the parts department. The consultant will interact with customers and technicians, assist in sales, and support the Parts Manager in various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and assist technicians, retail guests, and fellow employees in a friendly manner.
  • Accurately price parts and accessories and transfer information to the appropriate systems.
  • Answer all telephone calls promptly and courteously, addressing inquiries effectively.
  • Check in and stock incoming inventory in designated locations, creating bin locations for new stock.
  • Create and maintain merchandising displays to promote product sales.
  • Stock items by unpacking and arranging them in bins and on shelves, adjusting the inventory system as needed.
  • Inspect and process returned items, generating credit memos as necessary.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge and skills.
  • Assist the Parts Manager with weekly stock orders and daily parts orders.
  • Process buyback and core returns to manufacturers, ensuring credits are received.
  • Provide necessary information to the Warranty Department for parts warranty claims.
  • Match purchase orders with invoices and forward them to the accounting office.
  • Assist in preparing for annual parts inventory and maintain cleanliness in the parts department.
  • Work with the Parts Manager to identify potential clients and complete sales calls as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in a parts counter role (preferred).
  • Basic computer skills.
