About the position
The Part Time Teller at First Savings Bank is responsible for providing basic cash receipt and payment services while ensuring excellent customer service. This role involves handling deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, as well as maintaining accurate records and balancing the cash drawer. The Teller is expected to promote bank services and adhere to compliance regulations, contributing to a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with financial institution procedures.
- Receive checks and cash for deposits, verify amounts, and enter deposits into computer records.
- Cash checks and process withdrawals, ensuring verification of signatures and customer balances.
- Accept loan payments and ensure they match balances due, entering payments into the computer and issuing receipts.
- Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds and balance cash drawer at the end of the shift.
- Report any discrepancies to the supervisor and ensure the teller station is properly stocked.
- Check night depository bags and mail deposits, verifying contents and recording information.
- Maintain security of cash and keys, adhering to cash drawer limits.
- Answer customer questions and cross-sell bank services when appropriate.
- Complete necessary training and process CTR's and SAR's as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience required.
- Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved training program.
- Good interpersonal communication and computer skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as adding machines and keyboard.
- Good phone etiquette.
- Dependability and punctuality are essential.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- 1 year of cash handling experience preferred.
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
- 1 year of banking experience preferred.
