About the position

As an ALDI Cashier or Stocker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the customer shopping experience within a collaborative team environment. This part-time position offers an opportunity to engage with customers and contribute to the overall efficiency of store operations. You will be responsible for operating registers or other machinery, stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, and providing exceptional service to customers. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to learn, making this role dynamic and rewarding. In your capacity as a Cashier, you will process customer purchases, perform general cleaning duties, and ensure that merchandise displays are stocked neatly. Your role will also involve assisting customers with their shopping experience, providing feedback to management regarding products, inventory losses, and any scanning errors. Additionally, you will participate in inventory counts and monitor inventory accuracy, adhering to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses. As a Stocker, your responsibilities will include stocking shelves and rotating products to guarantee freshness for customers. You will follow merchandising planograms to create well-organized displays and manage new inventory by removing and breaking down empty boxes. Operating machinery safely and adhering to all safety procedures will also be a critical part of your role. This position requires physical stamina, as you will regularly engage in activities such as lifting, carrying, and walking throughout the store.

Responsibilities

  • Processes customer purchases and performs general cleaning duties.

  • Stocks shelves and rotates product properly to guarantee fresh product availability.
  • Follows merchandising planograms to create excellently merchandised displays.
  • Organizes new inventory and removes empty boxes.
  • Operates machinery and follows all safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company.
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately (for Cashier role).
  • Comply with state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages (for Cashier role).
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and properly, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler (for Stocker role).

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
