About the position

The Preschool Teacher Assistant position is designed for individuals passionate about early childhood education, providing support in a nurturing environment for children ranging from infancy to kindergarten. This role focuses on fostering children's cognitive, emotional, and physical development through individualized attention and engaging activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized attention to support children's unique learning needs.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and learning.
• Lead 'Learning-Through-Play' activities with younger students while older students participate in traditional learning.
• Assist with classroom organization, including tidying up after activities and maintaining a clean and orderly learning space.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the preschool program.
• Perform daily maintenance and sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe classroom environment.
• Assist in serving lunch and snacks to children.
• Record children's activities and needs in the parent communication tool.

Requirements

• A strong understanding of early childhood development and educational best practices is preferred.
• Prior childcare experience is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Director/Lead Teacher and staff.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and assist with diaper changes and potty training.
