The Nurse Aide Certification Assistant shall report to the Dean of Applied Sciences and Learning Technology. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the Nurse Aide Certification classroom an average of 1-3 days per week per semester, which consists of 2 two-hour classes per day. The candidate will be present in the classroom during instruction and skills check-offs, and will observe students during skills practice and demonstration. Additionally, the candidate may be required to be in the classroom when the instructor is absent, with days to be determined and a flexible schedule to fit within the classroom schedule. A level of maturity, respect, and integrity will be required, and the candidate must appreciate the growth and development stages associated with this age group. The candidate may also supervise during clinical rotations scheduled in the spring semester, with opportunities for growth within the classroom possible. This position is part of a high school dual credit program for Lea County Junior and Senior students. The candidate may serve on various campus committees as assigned and will perform other duties as assigned or required. Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College.
