About the position
Penguin Random House is seeking dedicated Light Picker/Packers for our state-of-the-art national fulfillment center located in Crawfordsville, Indiana. This position is part-time, specifically designed for the weekend shift, with hours on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 am to Noon, totaling 12 hours weekly. The role offers a competitive pay rate of $18.00 per hour. As a premier provider of distribution services in the publishing industry, we pride ourselves on our ability to meet and exceed customer expectations by efficiently picking, packing, and shipping approximately 1.2 million books daily to customers around the world. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking and packing customer book orders using various methods, including voice automation. You will utilize a computer and/or hand-held radio frequency (RF) equipment to ensure orders are processed correctly. The position requires basic reading and math skills, as well as the physical ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 35 lbs. You must be able to stand for the entire shift, with minimal breaks provided, and be comfortable climbing stairs and working on an upper mezzanine level. Safety is paramount in our operations, and you will be expected to follow all safety rules while working effectively in a team-oriented environment. Flexibility is also essential, as you may be required to work in other areas based on business needs. The minimum age requirement for this position is 16 years, and background and drug screening are part of the employment process.
Responsibilities
