About the position

The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Law School is seeking applications for part-time lecturers for the 2025-26 academic year. These positions are non-tenure track, limited-term appointments aimed at teaching various law courses in both in-person and online formats. The roles are designed for highly qualified instructors with relevant legal experience, particularly in specialized areas of law.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the JD program, including legal writing, research, and analysis.
  • Instruct courses in the Master of Legal Studies degree program for non-lawyer professionals.
  • Deliver classes in the LL.M. program for international lawyers, focusing on American Law.
  • Engage with students in both in-person and online formats, depending on the course.
  • Provide a syllabus and course materials for the proposed classes.

Requirements

  • A J.D. or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Excellent academic record.
  • Substantial, distinguished legal practice experience.
  • Experience within a distinct legal specialty.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching.
  • Prior successful law school teaching experience is strongly preferred.

  • Teaching evaluations or testimonials from previous teaching roles.

Benefits
