Communications - Part-Time Lecturer Pool
About The Position
The Department of Communications at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We occasionally have staffing needs for experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: Advertising, Entertainment and Tourism Communications, Journalism, and Public Relations. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in Communications or related field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to teach successfully at the university level
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students
- Coursework, prior teaching experience or professional experience in the particular course topic.
- Must be available on very short notice.
- Must comply with the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act.
- Must pass a satisfactory background check.
- Must disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (only after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer is extended).
- Must sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (if reaching final stages).

- Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
- Relevant professional work experience in the particular course topic.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the subject areas of Advertising, Entertainment and Tourism Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations.
- Be available on very short notice for temporary appointments.
- Undergo regular performance evaluations.
- Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading materials reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
