About the position

Petra Design, a small boutique residential design firm, is seeking a part-time Interior Design Assistant to support various design and administrative tasks. The role offers an opportunity to engage in all aspects of the design process while working closely with an experienced interior designer. The ideal candidate will have a background in interior design and a passion for creativity and detail.

Responsibilities

• Research and source materials and furnishings, order samples, and organize the material library.
• Assist with putting together material schemes and design presentations.
• Work with design vendors to obtain quotes and place orders, tracking goods and ensuring successful delivery.
• Coordinate project details with vendors and contractors to meet project requirements.
• Help with project deliverables including presentation files, spec packages, and construction documents.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with contractors and installers.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in residential interior design.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Docs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
• Experience with project management software is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and digital.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Studio Designer or similar project management software.
• Creative and design-driven with a great eye for aesthetics.
